Andrew Foo

Andrew Foo is a senior associate in our Litigation and International Arbitration practice.

Andrew has trained and practised with Magic Circle firms in London and Singapore. In that time, he has advised and acted for Asian and European states, SOEs, and MNCs in commercial and investor-state disputes and transactions. These span the infrastructure, technology, and banking sectors, and include disputes which have gone to adjudication, arbitration (ad hoc, ICC, ICSID, JCAA, LCIA, LMAA, SCC, SIAC, UNCITRAL), mediation, and litigation before the Singapore International Commercial Court. Notable cases include JKX Oil & Gas, et al v Ukraine (SCC), in which a LSE-listed company obtained the first ever emergency arbitrator award which was subsequently enforced against a State.

Andrew has also published in various journals, including Transnational Dispute Management, Mealey's International Arbitration Report, and the Kluwer Arbitration Blog, and his work has been cited in the Kluwer Journal of International Arbitration and the International Trade Law Review.

In addition, Andrew teaches advocacy and dispute resolution to law undergraduates and bar examination students, and serves on the Singapore Academy of Law's Law Reform Sub-Committee for building and construction law. Andrew is a graduate of the University of Oxford (St John's College), and is qualified in England & Wales and Singapore.
